California has so many great vacation spots, Laguna Beach, Hollywood, San Diego, San Francisco, you name it! So, when I had to opportunity to have a little staycation at the Jamaica Bay Inn in Marina del Ray I couldn’t say no. It sits just a short distance away from Santa Monica and Venice Beach. As soon as I entered the hotel to check in I felt as if I was transported onto island somewhere, with all of the beach inspired décor and colors. Each room has a balcony with a gorgeous picturesque view of the water and palms trees and direct access to the beach. My room was so large and spacious with two queen beds, high vaulted ceilings with beams, and the bathroom (we all know I love a good bathroom!) had an amazing glass walk in shower. The room was so homey and comfortable, even if it wasn’t raining I would have had a hard time leaving!
Their restaurant, Beachside, has become my new favorite. I will drive the hour it takes just to eat there. Everything I ordered I was impressed and wanted more! The cedar planked loch Duarte salmon with fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus and fried chicken and frangelico custard French toast, oh my god I’m drooling thinking about it right now, YUM! Not only was the dinner something to remember, the brunch was on another level. Im a sucker for waffles and French toast, but waffles weren't available. French Toast it was!! The exact name of this beauty was "frangelico custard French toast and fried chicken". I have no regrets at all devouring this plate haha.
If you know me, eating this much isn't a norm so imagine my face when I found out they had a good sized gym. Most Hotel gyms are small, but I don't think thats a reason that you shouldn't workout. A few weights and a treadmill can do so much if you go about it the right way. My entire stay I couldn’t stop thinking, feeling and even saying how much I felt like I was in Hawaii, it can be hard to feel that way when California is already a huge vacation destination. Plus I was only 45 minutes away from home! My little staycation truly felt like an actual vacation, thank you Jamaica Bay Inn for your amazing hospitality!
